The Origin

We created LoomWeb after getting tired of the same choice: slip into doomscrolling, or avoid social media altogether.

We didn't want to block the apps we rely on for inspiration, learning, and connection. We just wanted the noise to stay out of the way.

We couldn't find a browser that separated the meaningful from the mindless, so we designed one.

The Philosophy

Control, Not Constraints

We believe focus comes from flexibility, not restriction. Real digital freedom isn't about shutting the world out — it's about shaping it to your needs.

LoomWeb is built on the idea that people should guide their own experience online. You decide what matters, what fades into the background, and how your time is spent. Control doesn't mean limitation; it means choice.

The Metaphor: Why "Loom"?

Language shapes how we think. Most blockers speak the language of force: Block, Kill, Nuclear. We chose the language of craft.

Loom. A loom is a frame used to weave cloth. We see LoomWeb as the frame that holds your digital life together, helping you shape your online life intentionally.

Patches. Some sites have holes that leak your attention, like an infinite Reels scroll. A Patch covers the gap. It's a repair, not a restriction.

Weave. Weaving interlaces threads to create a pattern. In LoomWeb, a Weave collects your Patches and applies them at once, turning a chaotic feed into an intentional one.

Yarn Ball Logo. Our logo is a reminder that the web is full of threads. You can let them tangle, or you can weave them into a space that supports focus, curiosity, and connection.

The Studio

Built in Seattle, LoomWeb is made by Social Alien, an independent studio dedicated to creating tools that respect your attention and your time.

We don't track you, sell your data, or rely on algorithms. Our goal is simple: give people control over their digital lives.
